MATLAB application in modelling & simulation in field of Agricultural Engineering

Matlab is a great tool for applied computational work in any field of engineering.Agricultural Engineers are also using this software for making their novel works easy to model.Manly in the field of Food Engineering the application of the CFD concepts, modelling of process line,
process design ,Heat& Mass transfer phenomena,Cold storage modelling etc. impliments the MATLAB application. And it is easy to design a code .In B.Tech level it can also helps future enginners to do their works.

Processing online crop disease warning information via sensor network and GIS

Growing demand for food is driving the need for higher crop yields globally. Correctly anticipating the onset of damaging crop diseases is essential to achieve this goal. Considerable efforts have been made recently to develop early warning systems. However, these methods lack a direct and online measurement of the spores that attack crops. A novel disease information network has been implemented and deployed by Patrik et al.(2013) in UK. Spore sensors have been developed and deployed. The measurements from these sensors are combined with similar measurements of important local weather readings to generate estimates of crop disease risk. It is combined with other crop disease information allowing overall local disease risk assessments and forecasts to be made.

There are a number of information sources that can help identify an impending outbreak of disease in a field. Firstly, it is the weather, both current and future. As the diseases need warm and wet conditions to proceed with their attacks on the crops (USDA-NPA, 2011) and being located downwind of recent crop attacks would indicate that diseases are in the air blowing in the crop’s direction. Secondly, the history of the field indicates whether that field is a “hotspot” or high risk area; factors such as soil composition and previous disease outbreaks are important in assessing the likelihood of future attacks (USDA-NPA,2011).

GIS applications in Integrated Watershed Management Programme

Recently Govt. of India launches the IWMP(Integrated Watershed Management Programme) on last September'2014.It includes improvement of a watershed and its people's livlihood by proper management of needs.Water conservation is a big deal in drylands of India. But mannual survey in large areas for best water harvesting structure is labor intensive and costly. So we can use GIS based approach for identifying potensial water harvesting sites in different watershed.Using QGIS and ERDAS Imagine I have prepare a Potential Water Harvesting Site Map by different Slope Map,Drainage Line Map,Land Cover Map,Runoff Coefficient Map etc. for a river basin. It can be made for whole India where IWMP can be implemented.

Simulation of Soil Loss in MATLAB Simulink

Soil loss is a great problem in agricultural lands in Dry/Arid Zones of india. Many soil conservation engineering projects may be put to resolve it.But before implementation proper soil loss parameters and simulation of physical model is necessary.Based on USLE/RUSLE/MUSLE i have developed a simulation model of soil loss in MATLAB Simulink. It can easily measure the soil loss from the field from some input data.

Design of Cultivator with AutoCAD

Cultivtor are largely used in Indian Farms. So design and development of cultivator is more important in indian condition.Computer assisted design and analysis accelerated by AutoCAD is mostly welcome by CIAE.I have made a AutoCAD2014 Design of Cultivator in CAD/CAM Lab,Faculty of Agricultural Engineering,BCKV.It can be developed further.

Multipurpose Cold Storage Design Software

Design of Multipurpose cold Storage deals with dimensional desig of Cold Store,Cooling Load Calculation ,Evaporator-Compressor-Condenser Design and Selection and their optimization. It can be accelerated with computer assistance. So I have developed a Visual Basic2012 based software MCS_BCKV for Multipurpose Cold Storage Design.

RRTC a conceptual model

In india many vegetable and fresh fruits are damaged in transport process due to improper transport
tecnology. So i have design a concept Refrigerated Railway Transport Carriage(RRTC).Railways are the heart of any country as INDIA.So it can be easily implemented.
